Pomacanthus Xanthometopon
Pomacanthus Angelfish should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of room to swim. Plenty of rock work, caves, cracks and crevices should be provided for grazing and hiding. Pomacanthus angels may pick at sponge, tunicates, benthic organisms or sessile invertebrates. A diet of meaty and algae based foods along with Angel preperations which include sponge should be provided. Care will need to be taken when handling Angelfish as they have cheekspines, avoid using nets when handling. Pomacanthus Angelfish are hermaphroditic meaning they may have both sex organs at some point in their lives. Juvenile Pomacanthus Angelfish may exhibit colour or pattern differences. May be territorial towards other Angelfish with the same shape.
The Blueface Angelfish is also known as the Yellowface Angelfish. Perhaps one of the most colourful of the Angelfish the juveniles are an over blue-black colour with multiple white and blue bars. Adults are yellow overall with the scales highlighted in blue. A blue face, yellow band running from eye to eye, yellow tail, dorsal,anal and pectoral fin. Blueface Angelfish can grow up to 38cm in length.
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 1000L or larger for this species.
