Macolor Macularis
Provide an aquarium with plenty of rockwork, cracks, crevices and caves for hiding. Snappers also require wide open swim areas and a deep sand bed. Snappers are not reef safe and will eat any fish or invertebrate they can fit in their mouth. Provide a diet of meaty based foods twice a day. Snappers may not eat prepared foods when first acclimated, try feeding enriched live adult Brine, Glass/Grass Shrimp or Black Worms. Juveniles are colorful but as the fish matures their coloration will fade. Snappers should be housed with other peaceful tank mates. Can be kept as pairs in the aquarium and provide a tight-fitting lid as they may jump.
Black/White Snappers are also sometimes known as the Macolor Snapper. Rarely seen in the aquarium trade. Black/White Snappers are mainly a silver color, dark bars that alternate with lighter colors and the snout and tip of its chin are a black color. The Black/White Snappers can grow to a little over 26".
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 300 gallons or larger for this species.
Due to variations within species and age of fish, your item may not look identical to the image provided.
