Chaetodon Mertensii
Chaetodon Butterflyfish should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of room to swim. Plenty of rock work should be provided for grazing and hiding. Chaetodon Butterflyfish may pick at corals and crustaceans. A diet of meaty and algae-based foods should be provided multiple times daily. Multiples can be added simultaneously to a large aquarium. Chaetodon Butterflyfish tend to be shy and peaceful but can become territorial if their aquarium is too small.
The Merten's Butterflyfish is also known as the Mertensii, Atoll or Orangetail Butterflyfish, shows an overall white body, several gray lines running vertically on its body, black eye band and crown both of which are trimmed in white, the back portion of the body, connecting dorsal and anal fins are a bright yellow to orange colouration. The Merten's Butterflyfish can grow up to 15cm in length.
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 300L or larger for this species.
