Taenianotus Scorpionfish should be added to aquariums with plenty of rockwork, caves, cracks, crevices and ledges for hiding. Scorpionfish are highly secretive, bottom dwelling fish that can camouflage themselves while waiting for prey to pass by. They are also slow-moving fish requiring low water flow. Taenianotus Scorpionfish are highly poisonous care should be taken when placing hands in the aquarium. When first acclimated, they may not accept prepared foods try feeding live enriched adult Brine, Glass/Grass Shrimp or small crabs. Only one Scorpionfish should be added to an aquarium. They should be housed with peaceful fish that are too large to become prey.
Yellow Leaf Scorpionfish show colours that vary a great deal ranging from a mottled red, yellow, orange or white. Leaf Scorpionfish can grow up to 10cm in length.
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 200L or larger for this species.
