Siganus Doliatus
Blue Lined Rabbitfish should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of room to swim. Plenty of rock work should be provided for grazing, resting and hiding. Siganus Rabbitfish are generally herbivores but if not fed well enough may pick at tunicates, sponge or even coral. A diet rich in algae-based foods should be readily provided. Care will need to be taken when handling Rabbitfish as they have venomous spines. Siganus Rabbitfish are considered peaceful towards most fish except other Rabbitfish, consider adding only one per aquarium. Siganus Rabbitifish have the unique ability to camouflage themselves while sleeping or when frightened.
Blue Lined Rabbitfish are also sometimes known as the Barred Spinefoot, Scribbled Rabbitfish or Pencil Streaked Rabbitfish. Blue Lined Rabbitfish have an overall yellow colour with black diagonal stripesand blue thin vertical stripes. Two Bar Rabbitfish can grow up to 28cm in length.
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 150 gallons or larger for this species.
