Belonoperca Basslets prefer cool and dimly light aquariums with plenty of caves, cracks, crevices overhangs and ledges. Belonoperca Basslets may consume fish or invertebrates that they can fit in their mouths but generally leave coral alone. Belonoperca Basslets are predatory and need a diet of meaty enriched foods. They can release a toxin call grammistin when threatened or die that looks like soap. Belonoperca Basslets are hermaphroditic meaning they may have both sex organs at some point in their lives. They may jump provide an aquarium with a tight-fitting lid.
The Arrowhead Soapfish exhibit a green body with blue and black highlights in the dorsal and pelvic fins. Arrowhead Soapfish can grow up to 15cm in length.
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 300L or larger for this species.
