Amblygobius Palaena
Amblygobius Gobies are also known as sand sifting Gobies. They are hardy, excellent beginner fish but should not be housed with more aggressive fish. Sand sifting Gobies should be housed singly but a mated pair may be successfully housed together. Typically found near sandy, muddy reef areas provide an aquarium with plenty of sand and rock work. Sand sifting Gobies are reef safe but may pick at small crustaceans. Feed an omnivorous diet with plenty of meaty and algae-based foods multiple times daily. If not readily eating try a diet of fortified live Brine shrimp or black worms. Provide an aquarium with a tight-fitting lid as they may jump.
Chocolate Goby are also known as the Sleeper Banded Goby, shows mainly grey with thin vertical dark stripes and a black spot behind its gill plate and upper tail. Chocolate Goby can grow up to 10cm in length.
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 100L or larger for this species.
